For the benefit of the Americans on list (or is it the younger members, I'm not sure whether its a place or time gap that has me ignorant) Who is Glitter and what did the Glitter Gang do?
Gary Glitter (aka Paul Gadd) had 12 consecutive Top Ten Uk hits between 1972 and 1975. His career continued into the '90s as a nostalgic parody of his heyday, until he took his laptop to PC World for repairs and one of the staff found some heavy child pornography on the hard drive. Since serving a token sentence he has been intermittently harassed by the tabloid press as a convenient scapegoat for public outrage over paedo porn. If nothing else it gives them a chance to ridicule an overweight slaphead.
