Just been to a bonfire night event (ie for non-Brits - fireworks etc to celebrate attempt 1605 to blow up Parliament) with brother, sister in law & their two children (three month old slept through it all) Not something that would be celebrated in Federation times (g).
Well I think technically it's celebrating the *failure* of the attempt and the rather grisly death of the perpentrator isn't it? So maybe it's not so unlikely the Federation would have something similar.
