This is in fact a cunningly coded reference to slash cliche number *.* (I've forgotten which number it actually was), 'Surely it must be my turn by now, Blake?' Avon is tired of being Blake being top man on the Liberator, the gun represents Avon's phallus, and the bullets he pumps into Blake's writhing body represent his... oops, sorry, wrong list.
