Nastier piece of speculation: maybe Dorian's resources included worse things than the matador jacket and that garment of Vila's usually referenced with the words "yellow tapeworm". A man prepared to do anything to suit a whim might just wear anything, regardless of his taste in wine and women (and how seriously should we take Avon's estimate of Dorian's impeccability on that score?).
I had no intention of referring the "sunray" suit as outrageous, until the idea that it might've been Soolin's came up. If it ended up in Dorian's wardrobe, I'm speculating that other items belonging to Soolin went missing too, but maybe that's a subject for the Other List, and I'm not on it.
