M asked: if Travis was too ingrained as a character to loose,
rather than having a different actor with his own interpretation, why not create Travis's brother?
I've already suggested that this is what happened--but half-brother. The first Mrs. Travis Sr. had the money, so Travis Major (Sebastian, let us say) went to public school. Remarriage produced Travis Minor (Rod), who went to the comprensive. So much for the accents.
