You can get second-hand zines, though being on your side of the world (Australia, in my case) it's not precisely cheap. Jim & Melody Rondeau have what I found a very good, reliable service (I've bought heaps from them) - I haven't been able to get into their website for a little while, but they have a calague you can get for return postage. Postage eats up the pennies, of course, but if you aren't me you might have the patience to wait for a slower and cheaper mail service :-)

I might add that, when one *is* buying from the other side of the world, Judith's zine indexes with descriptions and reviews is a godsend to help work out which ones are more likely to be worth it for me.
