What an interesting idea for a plot -- where did you hear that this was Nation's intention? It would have seemed (to me) more likely that such a plotline might have been run in series 1 (ie instead of Breakdown, rather than after it), so the age of audience would have been unknown.
he - Nation, not Blake - would have sent a legion of bewildered kids crying all the way to bed. Not exactly something to be proud of. He'd have done less damage mugging them for their Smarties.
As indeed Boucher and Ridge did somewhat later. Start as you mean to go on.
