Everyone in Britain and a lot in the rest of the world know what Tony Blair looks like. I can't see that it would be different in the future. If she were still supreme commander, I could understand it, as ordinary people would have no idea what the top military people look like, going by how it is today. They would all know what the President looked like though, as we do with Blair and Bush.
Going back to something I brought up a while ago - there seems to be little 'official art' around in the Federation - one would expect pictures of Servalan's predecessors in her military office (as with the pictures of Prime Ministers in 10 Downing Street) etc. And the picture of herself Servalan/Sleer smashed in series 4 seems to have been in the possession of a Servalan 'diehard'.
Maybe Servalan didn't like pictures of her predecessors - she was the sort to want to redefine the office and ignore what had gone before. She was also an aesthete, and previous presidents were probably as ugly as most politicians! :-)
