and fly the ship, and of course that scene in Blake were he professionally

disarms

and knocks out Arlen.

It's one of the things I like about Vila that little bit of unpredictability. Usually he's just going to be his usual cowardly sneaky self but then from time to time he goes and does something really rather brave or clever.

We see Blake behaving quite differently under the influence of the Federation conditioning and we don't know how similar the methods were they used to 'adjust' Vila but I wonder if it could have given him a split personality of sorts.
