I do believe it (surprise, surprise!!) at least from Time Squad onwards. Not trust in the slushy, hearts-and-flowers 'I know you've always been there with me all the way' sense (and not without some near-moments of wavering) but in the sense that Blake knew that Avon was rather less than wholehearted in his support for the Cause, expected and allowed for Avon's honest temptation to throw the whole lot in at any time, but honestly believed that - *when* push came to shove - Avon would find himself Doing The Right Thing (yes, even in Horizon. He knew Avon would be tempted - and moved to remove temptation - but his later offer to Ro indicates that he expected the Liberator to stay where it was, even as we watched Avon try to talk himself into going :-))
Avon does not make it easy to trust him, of course. Quite deliberately.
