It's been a while since I've seen "Cygnus Alpha" but wasn't Jenna's question whether he could kill in cold blood? Killing the visa dealer was (apparently, but no evidence) in self defense. It could have been face to face, but that's not the same as in cold blood.

Jenna's question was actually asking if Avon could kill Blake in cold blood in order to take the Liberator. I don't believe he could. Not from any affection for Blake but simply because, at that point, Avon was not a killer. Season 4 Avon is another matter.

I did love Jenna's response when Avon asked her if she could kill in cold blood. She answered, "there's one way to find out." Meaning, if he tried to kill Blake, she would stop him (any way she had to).
