We are splitting hairs and arguing semantics. I will just have to scratch my head and continue to wonder how pornography, for you, does not have anything to do with sex, graphic or otherwise...just as I wonder how thinking, being or reading about paris might sometimes have nothing to do with France. No, I'm, using an anology, and a fairly striaghtforward one at that, to make my point.

Again you are misrepresenting what I said. I did not say that pornography had nothing to do with sex. That would be ridiculous, and I invite anyone to check back through what I've posted to acertain that that was not what I said.
What I said was that they are seperate but connected.
A photpgraph of the Eiffel Tower is not the Eiffel Tower. But they are related objects. Got it?
or otherwise...just as I wonder how thinking, being or reading about paris might sometimes have nothing to do with France.
Again, not what I said. Thinking and reading about France are unequivocally not BEING IN FRANCE. I can read and think about Paris without being in France. In fact I'm going to...

Right, just read a paragraph set in Paris. Nope, I'm still in London.
Just as I can go to a website now and read a pornographic story, but that isn't having sex.
See?

I'm with the kingpin on this one. Pornography is not sex, it is a depiction of sex. Sex is not pornography, it is the acting out of the kind of behaviour depicted in pornography. Sexual acts may be performed in the production of pornography. Pornography may be referred to in the performance of sexual acts.
As differences go, this one is not so much a splitting of hairs as Bleeding Obvious.
