I can't see that being an issue for him. Avon never gives the impression of caring about what other people think of him. IMO he prefers *not* being loved, because love causes the kind of emotional attachment he seems very eager to avoid.

A very safe philosophy, in his case, considering what happens to the few people he *does* begin to trust :-)
