That's a good observation. Particularly the line "I didn't take any of them on trust", that sounds like something Avon would have said. Also Darrow in his recent interview on SF-UK said that Blake was Avon's only friend. Is it possible that these lines were written by Boucher because he wanted to draw a parallel between the two characters, or more believeably, he had drawn the parallel himself and was writing those lines as a prompt to get over what he wanted when it to came to discussing the script with the producer and the director. I think all fan writers may have done a similar thing in the past, "I can't work this scene out, this is what I have written, but it's not working, do you have any suggestions?"
