They don't waddle around your feet, they go for their burrows like a bat out of hell! At least that's what I remember from visiting Phillip Island when I was a small child. My brother, being even smaller, came close to being bowled over by a couple (this was before people had to be fenced off from them, presumably for their own safety, as much as that of the penguins). Fairy penguins are a danger to small children, because they don't want to look where they are going <smile>
