Tavia, I do not, nor did I ever, believe that you were masquerading as "Fiona Moore."
It is true that this could indeed be detrimental to her career. One would think that she has a vested interest, then, in "outing" the culprit. I expect to be hearing from her, under the circumstances. Especially since the "culprit," whoever they may be, has apparently "hacked" her university access as well as her yahoo, deja and who knows what other accounts.
I wonder why this person or persons unknown went to such great lengths to attack me and my partner and my websites, for such a great length of time, and in all of that time on the Lyst they *never*, until we discovered the Fiona connection ourselves (quite by accident, I might add), claimed to know Fiona or to be connected to Fiona in any way. It seems to me that if you are setting out to get someone like Fiona in trouble and to hack their accounts, that you would claim to BE them, not someone else such as "Jenny Kaye". I mean, we might never have even discovered a connection to Fiona which makes such a deception rather meaningless. It's strange to me, too, that they never perpetuated any internet sabotage against Fiona's own website, etc. Furthermore, they seem to have quite an interest and knowledge of Blakes 7, B7 fandom, slash, and fans... of course, they keep getting many of their facts laughably wrong, but the fact remains that they obviously are familiar with Blakes 7, the people in it, and the people on this list. Which certainly does not point to a random hacker.
In any case, I'm sure that the police authorities and the Oxford authorities will be able to sort everything out. I do have the originating IP addresses and copies of all of the posts made by "Fiona", "Jenny", and "Shane." I'm sure that Fiona will want to join me in this quest to hunt down and prosecute the guilty party or parties. Someone obviously thought this was a funny joke. I'm not laughing and I don't think Oxford or the police will laugh, either.

On the other hand, if this person wants to attack you and yours (and this Jenny Kaye clearly feels strongly motivated to do so), doing so via an illictly obtained account seems a perfectly rational strategy.

I can't think of any interpretation of events which would cause one to expect such a thing.

Substantial knowledge of B7, Dr Who and Philip K Dick... shit, this is starting to sound like me. Ah, but also some knowledge of the circles Fiona moves in, which lets me off the hook.
This isn't a random hacker.

I have been advised by a friend of mine with a considerable amount of experience in the field of Law Enforcement in the UK that speculation on a public mailing list as to the identity of perpetrator(s) of the recent unpleasantness may prejudice any case that Annie wishes to bring. I suggest that as Annie has declared her intention to bring the matter to the attention of the appropriate authorities we leave the matter in their hands.
Stephen.

An excellent point. Let's drop the subject.

It appears, however, that the primary objective has not been to get Fiona in trouble, but to harass others -- in which case it's *possible* that Fiona (or her accounts) may have simply been a convenience, with Fiona herself perhaps being a secondary target. I'm reserving judgement on the issue of identity; there are aspects of Fiona's denial which stretch my credulity quite a bit, but I have seen some similar incidents which actually did occur. In any case, it's not something we can resolve from here -- as you say, it's a matter for the authorities, and the sysadmin folks at Oxford probably have the best resources for tracing what's going on.

It may be worth noting that our previous acquaintance Wendy Penberriss was *also* posting from an Oxford University IP (and also exhibited some trollish tendencies.) The person in question may have been here for some time, under various identities.

Good day all,
Last things first, a couple of quick questions about the Corgi Liberator miniatures.
Can anyone please give a range of prices for them on the collectibles market, and the variability according to condition.
Is there any significant variants and differences in value between the different variants? I have personally seen a white version and a blue green version.
Finally, for anybody who is keeping track of who is who on this list, I am now subscribing with this new email address, wjminne@ihug.com.au so anybody with records of my old address at kminne@camtech.net.au will have to change them as that account will soon be defunct with our change of ISP around here.
Thanks,
Walter Minne wjminne@ihug.com.au
