Tony Attwood may be putting out a special edition of 'Afterlife', and perhaps a sequel.
Aarggh!! No offence to Tony Attwood, but I thought 'Afterlife' was absolutely horrible, and bore very little relation to either characters or series as most fans viewed them even at the time. It might have been interesting as an original novel, without Avon and Vila, but as B7 it failed very badly. I bought it with high hopes, years ago when it first came out, and was deeply disappointed No trace of how Avon might be dealing with shooting his best friend in a tragic misunderstanding, or the loss of his crew. No sense at all of the man who stood protectively over Blake's body at Gauda Prime. I didn't expect a total emotional wallow, but some indication of feeling would have been nice. It just didn't work at all for me.
I've never read it, and have heard bad things, but I wouldn't mind checking it out. What I found so interesting, and why I posted it, was what Tony said about the original plans Terry Nation had - that Vila and Avon survived and were to go on to a new series if S5 failed to go ahead. Wish I'd known what the new series was to be about. And how they'd have handled Avon's feelings as you said, and Vila's too - at being despised and almost killed by Avon, sneered at afterwards, led into a near death trap, and watching Avon murder Blake, whom he liked, and who respected him and treated him better than the others did. Why would he have stayed with Avon? Fear of retribution if he deserted (which Avon would see as betrayal)?

I a couple of my stories, I had them say "how about that?" and go home.
