Umm ... have to admit I haven't thought this out very far - maybe they chose children who were already patients of Havant? Looked up three recent cases from his own files, that were likely to 'take' well, then worked backwards from there? Therefore, the outpatient admissions would be there for an earlier period but the children were there *then* for real treatment, and Varon's assumption that that's when they were implanted is wrong - that happened later.

Somehow, I don't think so, but 'tis the best I can come up with right now ...
