I read Chris Boucher said he had the shootings in slow-mo so it could possibly be regarded as such. He did say he could bring back anyone but Blake if they had the 5th season originally expected.
However, what bothers me even more is the way Avon casually shoots several other people in the base before Tarrant tells him Blake's sold them. As he has every reason to believe this is Blake's current crew, what was he thinking?
Not very sane thoughts IMO. He describes himself as a psychopath earlier (with a coldly amused smile) while listing the types of crimos no longer welcome on GP. Perhaps he was looking for Blake in order to eliminate him, as Blake would have good reason to suspect Avon of betrayal (very few real strikes against the Feds, wiping out Sula's coup just as it was succeeding).
