In my personal life, men are more likely to take my ideas and work seriously, whereas women tend to see me as a sidebar to my husband. There are certainly exceptions to that, but there seems to be a subconscious bias for people to be inclined to pay more attention to an attractive person of the opposite sex regardless of how far removed the subject is from anything sexual.
