In the book, avon, villa & Tarrent survice, and play roles in the book.
Just a question I've had about this book since I read a summary. We all know Avon's supposed to have a brother of some sort out there, but the book (I understand) gave him a sister. Was there an explanation or do I want to know . . . ?
we know that Slave and Blake diffently died.
Slave, being a machine, could always have a few new spark plugs added. As for Blake, while it is extremely difficult to be shot four times in the main body and not have anything vital hit, I understand there are precedents (and that's just namby-pamby, our era type medicine).
As for Dayna, same argument on vital material and/or recovery. Also, it has been pointed out that Blake, not being nearly so trusting, might not have been letting Arlen run around his base with a real gun. Then, there's the favorite argument about this all being a set up by Avon and Blake to make a convincing show for the Federation (or others, I suppose) that they're dead.
