Harriet wrote re Andromeda (which I haven't seen, so can't comment): <Though the 2nd-season opening credits/music are infinitely worse.>
;-) what do people think of our own credits/music then?

Endearingly tacky, like the rest of the production. The music cheers me straight up as soon as it starts. It would be a bit too expansively anthemic, if the little melancholic cadence at the end didn't subvert it, but as it is, I can live with it. It says "Here we are! Aren't we brave? Aren't we smart?" and then it whispers "Well, no, we're not really."

My husband and I burst out laughing when we first heard the theme music and the tag at the end. We had a running gag imagining Dudley Simpson recording this huge traditional fanfare and playing it for Terry Nation, Nation saying, "Well, um, it's nice and all, but the show is really supposed to be a gritty, depressing anti-hero sort of show."
"Oh, no problem, that's easy to fix." [scribbles two notes at the end of the score.] "There you go!"
Since this is my first post, I guess I'd better introduce myself. {grin} I'm Jennifer McGee, and I started watching B7 a year ago at the very advanced age of 31 when I finally bought all the tapes to find out why this show kept coming up in books about science fiction. By the end of Space Fall I was hopelessly lost.
I live in Japan right now with my husband, also a fan. I'm an Avon fan, he's a Gan fan, which reflects our basically different approaches to the show. We're thinking about coming to Redemption 03, which would be our first con ever, so part of the reason we're on lists is so we don't show up as total strangers. I'm thinking of making/buying him a Gan outfit if we go (shhh, don't tell him! He isn't on this list, but he is on a B7 discussion board a lot of you are also on). He'll probably be the only Japanese-American "Gan" there. I should hope.
