1. 中国企業の「日本買い」

帝国データバンク様から以下のプレスリリースがありました。

「中国企業が出資する日本企業は611社、5年前に比べて約2.5倍に急増していることが分かった。今回調査対象としたインド、ロシア、ブラジルなどの新興11 ヵ国の合計と比べても、出資企業数（120 社）、伸び率（約1.5 倍）ともに大きく引き離しており、中国企業の積極的な「日本買い」の現状を強く印象付けた。」

1. Successions

Bubble economies have one long-term insidious effect. They help management forget about the often difficult problem of continuity and top people successions. This is a pattern we saw in Japan, which is hurting the economy right now, and we expect the same will be true in China in 20 years if there is no further consolidation. The phenomenon is exacerbated by population geographic and social mobility, as regional centres and secondary economies lose key talents to capitals. The pattern is often that successful parents can afford to send their children to the best universities. The kids in turn find good positions in the biggest corporations, and have no desire to return to the family businesses when parents retire. This compounds the problems of small and medium businesses in regional economies. M&A is a way to avoid closing down the business. We see few companies pro-actively planning for succession, although they might often some advantages to a new management such as quickly increasing responsibilities, good work-life balance plans, and a better overall life-style. Some huge companies have made successions planning a core competency, such as GE. Softbank also is being very systematic at preparing replacement to Mister Son, with an academy and a roaster of 30 candidates. By the way, today is the last day to apply if you want to lead Softbank in the future.
