Re: Dash International Baduk(Go, Weiqi) Club Championships

To whom it may concern,

It is my pleasure to announce that we are holding the Dash International Baduk  Club Championships from 2004. This competition will be held quarterly (every 3 months) throughout the year. The purpose of these championships is to promote friendly relations and mutual understanding between all Baduk players in the world. These championships will be held on the internet.(http://www.dashn.com/english)

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude towards the Club members of major European cities which are (in travel order): St. Petersburg, Munchen, Wien, Praha, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and Frankfurt that had shown their hospitality when I had visited them with my students last summer.

It will be an opportunity for the players (especially from Korean clubs) to meet foreigners for the first time on the internet site. Also, players can exchange opinions about their games and see what other countries baduk players think. It will open and widen their perspective and give them wider views about Baduk players from different countries.

And if you have any suggestions or proposals to make the championships more successful, they are more than welcome.

With sincere new year greetings and warm regards from Korea,

Prof. Sang-Dae Hahn

Introduction of Dash & Dot com

Dash Baduk started its service within Korea bye the year 2000, and by 2001 it had developed an internation version where Baduk lovers from several countries around the world could use and enjoy. Currently, there are around 30 thousand members with around 3000 members simultaneously online, and we have settled at a position as a representative site for Baduk.

Dash Baduk site carries many special characteristics which our members can enjoy. While using an avatar displayed through flash animation, interesting conversations can be held, and the various Game Room functions allow for many users to easily exchange opinions with each other over the multi-review functions provided.

Not only does Dash Baduk provide the services of a standard Game Room site, but we also have Life or Death problem games arranged in order of Kyu (Keup), an artificial intelligence program for beginner users, etc. and we are increasing our services related to Baduk for English speaking users. You can access the Life or Death problem games through our website where there are English, Chinese, and Japanese versions ready for you.

The problems which are currently examined by professional players are arranged in order of level in a user-friendly way. The AI(Artificial Intelligence) interactive Baduk game program is available at all times in the game room and is popular among players of around 10 Kyu level. (ID: AI_Computer)

Currently, in the Dash Baduk game room, there are several professional players present on a full-time basis to play guidance games with our members, and a significant number of professional players are also included as Dash Baduk high rankers.

Today, Dash Baduk has widened its business service to Japan, China, etc. and afterwards we are planning to appear on the scene in Europe, North America, etc.

Our mission statement here at Dash Baduk is to build the world¡¯s leading first-rate Baduk service.
