Jag håller på och läser Locus septembernummer. Synd att jag inte hann
läsa 4 sidor till innan mötet i torsdags. Liz Bourke har en minst sagt
entusiastisk recension av boken. Skulle ha varit kul att ha den med på
mötet. Bourke kallar den "excellent work" och spår att den kommer att
nomineras för priser. Vilket vi också trodde. Hon tycker också att den
är "...one of the most striking works if fiction I've read this decade".
Inte illa!
Dessutom recenserar Gary K Wolfe Annalee Newits nya bok "The Future of
Another Timeline" och Lisa Goldsteins nya bok "Ivory Apples". I
Goldsteinrecensionen nämner han också den bok hon gav ut innan,
"Weighing Shadows" (som kom 2015). Både Annalee Newitz bok och
Goldsteins "Weighing Shadows" handlar tydligen om tidsresor och Wolfe
kallar dem "change war"-berättelser. Som jag fattar det alltså böcker
där folk krigar om att få en viss framtid genom tidsresor.
Intressant att det verkar finnas så pass många verk i samma nisch (även
The Big Time som vi diskuterade på mötet, även om den är äldre) varav
flera är skrivna under senare år. Kanske fler?
