The point I was making about Powerplay was that it was overtly presenting sexism etc for discussion and, if this #was# intention, it should be taken accordingly (B7 does do this in other cases - eg what 'rights' do the Decimas and their creators have once the Decimas become independently sentient entities?) And a rocket attack doesn't sound like something that a raggle-taggle guerilla band could put together.> The series makes it fairly clear that the Federation took some worlds - possibly many - by conquest, and that there is a history of attempts to break free on the part of Outer Worlds, at the least (the level of oppression and over-importance of the military actually hints fairly strongly at the *brittleness* of the hold they have over the more outstretched parts of empire). And that there are neutral worlds like Lindor, some of whom would possibly not be too happy about their large, and aggressive neighbour and not unwilling to covertly 'assist' worlds trying to escape (covertly, of course, to avoid giving the Federation an excuse to turn on *them*). Tape availability

I'm down to my last few copies of Travis: The Final Act (Travis documentary) and Alan says he's out of copies, so I won't have any more stock when these are gone. If you want one, get it now. (I had several people trying to get Mark of Kane after it went out of print, so if you want 'Travis' don't leave it too late). I've got more stock of Logic of Empire (post-Gauda Prime drama), but that too is getting near to the end of the run. I imagine it will probably be sold out in a few months, but it's got more copies left than 'Travis'. As far as the 'Together Again' cast interview tapes go, the first two are now out of print. The third, 'Action' (with Stephen Greif as well as Paul and Gareth) is down to the last few copies, but I've still plenty of stock of the later ones. Paul Darrow and Gareth Thomas are in all of them, and indvidual tapes feature various actors, directors, and behind-the-scenes crew in a fascinating series of anecdotes about how the series was made. It's a case of the stronger wills prevailing. The stronger wills rise to the top of the leadership ladder. We see that in first and second seasons when Blake's stronger will prevails. It's not as universal in third and fourth seasons because Tarrant is willing and able to go against Avon. Which is no doubt why Avon pulled the gun on him in "Terminal." He knew he couldn't best Tarrant with words alone. > Hmm, makes me wonder if there was something else going on in Avon's mind > when he criticized Aurons for always conforming to the group.
