Hostage

Watched 'Hostage' on the weekend. First Cally tells them that the atmosphere is thin so they have to take it easy. So the first thing Blake does when he lands is run up a track. Then when Avon arrives, he sprints up the same track! Later, when Blake is captured, he is brought into Travis blindfolded. What is with the blindfold? Travis is in a lonely tower on top of a steep hill, which Blake was heading for anyway! Were the crimos worried he's give their location away?

SALE OF B7 ITEMS FROM LONG TIME FAN If you would like a snail mail listing of some wonderful items for sale, please contact Sue C. at SMC5597(a)aol.com Sue has an extensive listing of PAL Paul Darrow videos, various magazines with B7 content, some fanzines, a jigsaw puzzle, and various other items either connected to Paul Darrow or to B7. She, also, has two Corgi Liberators for sale, one of them still on the card. Plus she has an extremely special one of kind Paul Darrow item which she bought directly from Paul and Janet themselves. This would be for the avid Darrow fan who wants something unique. Actually as she is going through her closet, she is finding all sorts of very nice Paul Darrow items as she basically is an Avon/Paul Darrow fan. So if you have any specific wishes concerning Darrow items, be sure to ask her about them. She just might have the very item that you have been looking for. I've bought various items from this UK lady myself. Her prices are extremely reasonable. She's quick to reply to Emails. I recommend the sale. It will take about a week for the snail mail list to get to you. BUT you can probably inquire about some things via Email and reserve them. quarries and water pistols

The southern groups annual super-soaker shoot out at Winspit quarry (used for filming episodes of both Blakes 7 and Dr Who), will be on Saturday the 1st of September. We meet up at Wareham station (which has plenty of car-parking space and also allows people to arrive by rail) at 12 o'clock and travel in as few cars as possible to Worth Matravers (where there is limited parking space). From there, it's around 20 mins walk to the quarry, so you need sensible footwear. You need to bring a supersoaker (or waterpistol), a water container to carry water from the car park (remember, you have to carry your ammunition for that 20 min walk, so a backpack or shoulder bag can come in handy), a dry t-shirt to change into if you get soaked, and a pack lunch. Dark clothing is recommended as there are caves that go far enough back to make good ambush points in the dark and a day-glo shirt will get you spotted quickly by fans whose eyes are already adjusted to the dark. We just love people who have white shirts with optical brighteners - they make great targets! All are welcome, but it helps greatly if you let me know in advance so that we don't leave Wareham without anyone. We've been doing this for years now - it's great fun and the sun nearly always shines. It's also beautiful countryside and well worth it for the fantastic view over the sea. von and Shrinker We do not know 'how' Avon came to be in the cell in RoD: what sort of information he provided/hinted at to get himself subject to interrogation. It might well be that different kinds of torture (human/mechanical/psychochemical) were used in different contexts - and Avon could have provided for that. The transmitter could have served as dual function. I suspect that Avon would have made *very* sure that Shrinker was 'in the neighbourhood' before he subjected himself as bait. Pacey in Pinter

The New York Times for today (July 27) reviews the Pinter Festival at Lincoln Center (New York City). The ALmeida Theater Company is presenting two Pinter one-acts tonight and tomorrow. Steven Pacey plays Bert Hudd in "The Room" and Russell in "Celebration." The review includes a none-too-flattering photo of SP in "The Room," Pinter's first play. -(Y)
