AVON: Why should I be? It has a perverse kind of logic to

Actually, I always interpreted this as a very Kerr Avon way of saying "As
usual, my luck sucks like a black hole."
>>Avon must still be recovering from his injuries. There
are far more improbable things I could imagine here...
Every grain of sand on the beach could instantly transform
into cucumber blancmange and begin a song and dance routine.<<
This happened on Vern. The song and dance routine was rewritten at the last
minute and the sand transformed into a collective fanfic writer who wanted to
see Tarrant and Servalan have dinner and boink each other, instead.
>>Avon could have been spontaneously coated in barnacle-proof
paint (and therefore not need to spend the years after Gauda
Prime having barnacles scraped from his bottom).
I'm sure everyone would agree that this is a novel explanation for
Avon's increasingly erratic behaviour in the fourth series - a
missing episode - "Barnacles"<<
It's a little-known fact that Avon actually sent Dr. Plaxton out to scrape
those barnacles off the aft end of the Scorpio. As originally written, he had
desperately recruited her as a medical specialist to scrape said barnacles
off of his *own* aft end, but the BBC wouldn't let it past.
