It just occurred to me that I should pass along to you, my personal contacts from other countries, how much support and sympathy from abroad has meant to the American people. I was with friends yesterday and some of them mentioned that they were brought to tears when watching a telecast of the Star Spangled Banner being played at the Changing of the Guard. Another mentioned that she was particularly grateful to Canada for providing a safe haven for our planes--without regard to any danger that might encompass. Which led to a general conversation about the kindness, compassion and support that has been offered by so many. It is appreciated. Thank you. Carol

I hope the US is measured and responsilbe in their reaction, and do try to keep down collatoral damage. But some idiots seem willing to consider even a nuclear response. And we still don't even know who's to blame. I think posts saying Islam promotes a different mindset (I've seen plenty of Muslims writing about anti-terrorist passages in the Koran before this) and claims that the US won't act irresponsibly are both a little premature.
